What’s up Wednesday is a weekly blog-hop created by sisters Jaime Morrow and Erin L. Funk, intended to help writers keep connected. Click on either link for more information and to sign up, if you want to join in!
Here’s what’s up with me this week!
Finished the first book in the Lady Julia Grey series and really enjoyed it. Haven’t written a review of it yet, though. Hmm. Must get to that. Have moved on to stories related to my body-modification story idea. Just finished a story called “Liking What You See: A Documentary“, by Ted Chiang, which is an interesting thought experiment about beauty, perception of beauty, and what we would be like if we couldn’t tell an attractive face from an unattractive one.
Still freewriting on the body mod story world, and looking for a “what-if” that snares me and a character to carry the what-if. I signed up for Camp NanoWrimo, which started yesterday. I got zero words yesterday though, because July 1st is Canada Day, and nothing gets done on Canada Day unless it involves celebrating. We celebrated at the baseball park (Vancouver Canadians def. the Salem-Kaizer Volcanoes 8-4).
… Other Stuff:
Volunteering at Bard on the Beach. Finished watching the first season of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and have a slight crush on Detective Inspector Jack Robinson. (Omigosh, that mouth!) Still enjoying rewatching The West Wing. I seem not to be in the mood for Parks and Rec, so I’m saving that. And enjoying the new season of So You Think You Can Dance.
… Inspiring me:
Deadlines. I need to write a spec-fic story for a class that happens ten days from now and a non-fiction story for a class 17 days from now. I should go get on that.
What’s up with you?
